Otlob has prosperously launched its own delivery service for more than 1,500 restaurants

Otlob, the leading online food ordering company in Egypt, has launched a new significant partnership with McDonald’s international, restaurant chain to deliver McDonald’s orders utilizing Otlob’s well-trained delivery agents and cutting edge delivery technology.

“McDonald’s is one of Otlob’s paramount partners, and we are thrilled to be able to enhance our partnership further by launching this new delivery technology for them,” Walid EL Saadany, Otlob’s Managing Director commented.

The MD continues “We’ve been working with McDonald’s since the beginning, as early as 1999, when Otlob first began paving the way for food e-commerce in Egypt. We have a lot of experience together, but this is the first time in 18 years that we will be adding delivery logistics to the scope of our partnership.”
Following up on Otlob’s MD comments, Hesham Wahba, MacDonald’s marketing director, commented “We feel very optimistic about the success of Otlob’s delivery service. We have a very long and positive working experience together. McDonald’s is very careful in choosing its partners and we would not be doing this if we did not believe that it would give a good experience to our customers.”

Otlob launched its own delivery service earlier this year for the first time in its 18 years of offering food ordering solutions in Egypt. This service will expand to include more than 1,000 delivery riders in less than 1 year, covering dozens of restaurants across Cairo and beyond. Otlob uses Delivery Hero’s proprietary delivery logistics technology to offer the fastest and most efficient delivery experience, and carefully trains its riders to give an excellent experience to the customer.

Walid El Saadany states “In the end it is all about supporting our restaurant partners in providing the best food delivery experience possible. We started by tackling the ordering process and making that quicker, easier, and less error prone. The next logical step is to create a delivery solution that helps our restaurant partners scale their volume, and ensure the best possible food delivery experience for our customers. That is where we looking to go, and we are excited by our first results.”

The Managing Director added, “We are confident in our success. While this is a new service for us, it has been proven by more than 40 companies in Delivery Hero’s portfolio. We’ve leveraged that knowledge to do it right from the beginning.

On top of that, the technology opens up some really amazing opportunities. We know how it feels like to be sitting at home hungry, checking the clock on the mobile every 5 mins wondering when the food will arrive. I hate that feeling. We can erase that feeling forever by providing customers with live updates from the time you press ‘Place Order’ till the time the food is at your doorstep – including live delivery updates. With that level of transparency you’ll never be left wondering about the status of your delivery again. How cool is that?”

Otlob’s delivery fleet with hire and train more than 1,000 delivery agents before the end of 2018, adding quality work to Egypt’s economy.
