The San Francisco company Twitter announced on September 12, 2013, in a tweet, that it has submitted papers for a stock offering, the most hotly anticipated in the tech sector since Facebook's last year. Talk of an initial public offering (IPO) has circulated about Twitter for some time, and the Wall Street Journal estimated the company founded in 2006 is worth some $10 billion. تعهد الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة “تويتر” جاك دورسي بأن تبذل الشركة جهودا أكبر في إزالة تغريدات المضايقات الجنسية ورموز الكراهية وجماعات العنف من خدمة الرسائل القصيرة التي تقدمها الشركة.
صدر التعهد في سلسلة من التغريدات في وقت متأخر أمس الجمعة، في أعقاب مقاطعة نظمتها سيدات يدعمن الممثلة روز مكغوان بعد أن قالت إن “تويتر” أوقف حسابها الشخصي بشكل مؤقت بعد ان نشرت تعليقا عن سوء تصرف صدر عن المنتج السينمائي هارفي وينشتاين.
قطب الإنتاج السينمائي فصلته الشركة التي أسهم في تأسيسها الأحد الماضي وسط اتهامات بارتكابه مضايقات أو اعتداءات جنسية بحق سيدات.
وأقر دورسي أن “تويتر” لم تكن تبذل ما يكفي لضمان عدم إسكات الأصوات حول الخدمة بالرغم من إضفاء تغييرات على سياسات الشركة منذ العام الماضي.
وقال إن القواعد الجديدة ستعلن الاسبوع المقبل على أن تدخل التغييرات حيز التنفيذ في وقت لاحق.
